2009-2010 Sidewalk Improvements

Project Description: This project entails the construction of concrete sidewalks along arterial streets within the Village where there are gaps in existing sidewalk segments or where no sidewalk exists. Competitive bids for the project were received and opened on September 23rd, 2009. The project was awarded to the low bidder, Schroeder & Schroeder of Skokie at the October 14th, 2009 Village Board Meeting. Construction began on November 23rd, 2009 and it is anticipated that the project will be completed by April 30th, 2010.
Construction Update #2 – 1/6/2010
The contractor completed the construction of the sidewalk on Waukegan Road between the Royal Ridge Subdivision and the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge. Construction will resume in the spring when weather permits.
