    Traffic alert for Greenbriar & Westmoor Parents and Commuters
    Briarwood Lane Closed Thursday AM for repairs! Motorists are asked to allow extra time when traveling to Greenbriar or Westmoor Schools for student drop-off and pick-up on Thursday, Feb. 23, as Briarwood Lane will be closed to through traffic between Chestnut Street and Crabtree Lane beginning at 9:00am for sanitary sewer repairs. Cherry Lane will also reduced to one lane with flaggers controlling traffic during the sewer work. Briarwood and Cherry will be reopened Thursday afternoon after repairs have been completed. Thank you.

    ComEd Cable Replacement Begins
    ComEd’s contractor, Intren, will be performing overhead cable replacement to increase the reliability of the electrical infrastructure in the areas of Maple Avenue, Oak Avenue, Illinois Road, and Woodlawn Road between Shermer Road and Wescott Road and the areas bordered by Big Oak Lane, Kiest Avenue, Meadow Road, and Keystone Avenue. Work is scheduled to begin the week of February 20, 2012 and is expected to be completed by April 30, 2012, during which time residents may see workers working along the power lines in the front and/or rear of their home.     Effective Jan.1, 2012, certain electronics may no longer be disposed of in landfills. Therefore, beginning Jan.1, residents will no longer be able to place electronic products such as TVs, Computers and CD Players in their refuse or recycling for disposal.
