Engineering Division
Responsibilities
The Engineering Division of the Public Works Department assures that the design, construction, and maintenance of the public and private major development improvements are in conformance with the Village's Standards and Specifications for Public and Private Improvements and Floodplain Development Ordinance to maximize their safety and serviceability are maximized and minimize their long term maintenance expenses. Staff provides timely, cost effective in-house design/inspection services for Village Public Improvement and Maintenance projects.
The Engineering Division also responds to resident's flooding complaints and manages the Village's Overhead Sewer Program and Drainage Cost Sharing Programs.
As part of its on-going duties, the Engineering Division also oversees compliance with MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) discharge permitting and stormwater-related matters. Please see the Village's current stormwater management documents:
