Village Service Updates
Refuse & Recycling
ComEd has taken additional steps to help ensure its residential customers across northern Illinois have access to electric service. Since it is not critical at this time to visit a ComEd payment location to make a payment, ComEd offers mail and electronic payment options. ComEd is also working with customers who contact us to establish payment arrangements and identify energy assistance options to address their specific needs.
We encourage you to visit ComEd's website to complete the following actions from home:
- Make a payment
- Make payment arrangements
- Report an electric outage
- View your bill by signing into My Account
- Start, stop or move service
- Learn about assistance programs
- Get tips on saving energy while working from home
- Learn about other ways ComEd supports communities
- Download the ComEd App where you can view and pay your bill, report an outage, and register for alerts.
Small Business Assistance Program
ComEd is offering eligible small business customers, whose service has not been disconnected, a one-time grant equal to 30% of their total ComEd balance (up to $1,000) that will be applied to the past due balance and the remaining balance can be spread over a payment plan of up to six months.
Small business customers whose service has been disconnected within the past 30 days may be eligible for a one-time grant equal to 30% of the total ComEd balance (up to $1,000) to help reconnect their service if accompanied with a payment of the remaining balance due.
See eligibility and apply here.
Helping Hand Program
ComEd recently launched the Helping Hand Program to provide eligible customers a one-time grant of up to $300 towards a past due balance. The program is available until funds are exhausted.
Combined household income for the 30 days prior to application (gross income for all household members, before taxes are deducted) is at or below 250% of the federal poverty level and one of the following concerns is expressed:
- Unexpected loss of income or reduction in income (including job loss or furlough)
- Sudden illness to you or family member
- Other stated COVID-19 impacts
To apply for the one-time bill assistance, call 1-800-EDISON-1 (1-800-334-7661) and mention the Helping Hand program.
Nicor Gas is offering help to those facing financial hardship due to COVID-19 by connecting you to energy assistance, offering extended payment options, and providing
