What is the Climate Action Plan?
In 2020 the Board of Trustees directed Village staff to oversee the creation of a Climate Action Plan (CAP), put together in collaboration with 30 community stakeholders and an expert environmental consultant. The draft Climate Action Plan to reduce Village-wide greenhouse gas emissions (35% by 2030, 80% by 2040) and foster sustainability in our community can be viewed here.
On July 27 at 7:30pm, the Board of Trustees will conduct a public hearing on the draft Climate Action Plan. Members of the public are invited to speak at the public hearing. All online review comments that have been received to date were included in the packet distributed prior to the meeting along with the draft CAP. View the meeting agenda here.
The meeting will take place in person at Village Hall in the Sandra “Sandy” Frum Board Room. This public hearing can be viewed live online here, on the Village's Facebook page, or NCTV Channel 17 (AT&T U-verse customers tune to Channel 99 and search "Northbrook"). If members of the public would like to share comments but cannot attend, comments may be emailed to Tessa.Murray@northbrook.il.us.
