Statement from the Village Board on Anti-Semitic Incident in Northbrook

NB Logo - Spotlight

This morning, the Village of Northbrook became aware that someone placed flyers containing anti-Semitic hate speech outside several residences in a Northbrook neighborhood. This incident is similar to other such incidents that have taken place in neighboring communities. The materials appear to be dropped at random households and not targeted to specific residents. The Northbrook Police Department is aware of this issue and is working to ensure continued community safety.

The Northbrook Village Board unequivocally condemns anti-Semitism and all acts of hate. We stand together with the Jewish community, family members, friends, and neighbors. Northbrook is an inclusive community and we welcome all. We reject hate directed at any person or group based on race, religion, color, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or any other feature that distinguishes us from one another. We stand together as neighbors and reject discrimination and hatred.

We ask that you join us and your fellow Northbrook neighbors in standing up against hate. Sign the Village’s Welcoming and Inclusive Community Pledge at
