On November 5, 2025, Northbrook Police Command Staff had contact with uniformed Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. ICE agents were parked in the restricted employee parking area of the Northbrook Police Department; no agents entered the Northbrook Police Station.
The ICE official in charge was advised by Northbrook Police that they were impeding local law enforcement operations on Village property, and they were directed to leave. All ICE agents present left shortly thereafter.
The Northbrook Police Department acted in compliance with the Illinois TRUST Act, which has guided how local governments interact with federal agencies since 2017 and helps ensure that residents can seek help from local authorities without fear.
As verified reports of immigration enforcement activity increase in our neighboring communities and in Northbrook, both unincorporated areas and in our corporate limits, the Village has listed on its website resources and FAQ’s regarding immigration rights.
