The Village of Northbrook is excited to be taking part in the National Community Survey™ (The NCS™) starting in 2023. In October and November, randomly selected households received a green postcard invitation to participate in the National Community Survey. Please watch your mailbox and follow the enclosed instructions if you have not done so already. Green postcard responses are due December 11.
No postcard at your house? No problem. Starting November 27 and running until December 11 there will also be an open-participation survey that can be taken by any and all Northbrook residents. Results will be categorized into "random statistically valid results" and "open participation results." You can take the open participation survey by clicking the icon below! More About the Survey
The NCS is a collaborative effort between National Research Center, Inc. (NRC) and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). The survey and its administration are standardized to assure high quality research methods and directly comparable results across The NCS communities. The NCS captures residents’ opinions within the ten central facets of a community (Economy, Mobility, Community Design, Utilities, Safety, Natural Environment, Parks and Recreation, Health and Wellness, Education, Arts & Culture, as well as Inclusivity and Engagement). The survey centers on community livability and includes questions about the quality of life in Northbrook, demographics, rating of local services, and residents’ use of services. Polco’s highly skilled team of social science researchers, with extensive experience and insight into local government, will provide the Village with comparative data from other local governments across the country. Data from the survey will assist the Village to make operational, strategic, and policy decisions.
