National Community Survey 2023

For the first time, Northbrook participated in the National Community Survey™ (The NCS™) in late 2023. The survey focused on the livability of communities by categorizing survey questions into the ten main “facets” of community livability including economy, mobility, community design, utilities, safety, natural environment, parks and recreation, health and wellness, education arts and culture, and inclusivity and engagement.

Benchmarking
NRC’s database of comparative resident opinion is composed of resident perspectives gathered in surveys from over 500 communities whose residents evaluated the same kinds of topics and used as a benchmark amongst all of the participating communities.

Survey Methodology
The survey report, received this year, provides the opinions of a representative sample of 677 Northbrook residents for a statistically valid survey sample. Survey results were weighted so that the demographic profile of respondents was representative of the demographic profile of adults in Northbrook.
