As the holiday season approaches, residents are reminded of temporary changes and seasonal services related to waste, recycling, and compost collection. Please review the information below to ensure proper disposal and collection during Christmas, New Year’s, and throughout the winter months.
Holiday Collection Delay
For Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, collection will occur one day later than your regular pickup. This year the one day delay will impact Thursday and Friday collection days.
Holiday Trees
LRS will collect real holiday trees every Wednesday at no charge throughout January. Trees must be placed curbside and free of lights, ornaments, tinsel, wire, plastic, bags, and flocking. Artificial trees will not be collected. Please note, the last day for holiday tree collection was January 28, 2026.
Holiday Lights
Recycle old or broken holiday lights at the Fleet Maintenance Garage (behind Village Hall), weekdays 7 a.m.–3 p.m., through January 31.
Compost Collection
Compost is collected every other week from December 10–March 31. Weekly service resumes April 1. View the compost calendar here.
E-Waste Collection
Recycle old and unused electronics at the Fleet Maintenance Garage behind Village Hall (1227 Cedar Lane) on the first Tuesday and Saturday of each month.
- Tuesdays: 7 am–3 pm
- Saturdays: 9 am–12 pm
Residents must remove items from their vehicles. Items may only be dropped off during scheduled recycling events.
Cardboard Recycling
Flatten cardboard and place it with your regular recycling. No limit on amounts. If you have extra cardboard that cannot fit into your cart, place the flattened cardboard in a large box next to your cart.
