   By serving on a Village advisory Board or Commission, you can participate in planning the future of Northbrook! Many of these commissions and boards make recommendations that will greatly affect life in Northbrook. It is important that prospective members of our commissions and boards clearly understand the functions and responsibilities of membership before actively seeking appointment. A great deal of personal satisfaction, knowledge, and experience may be gained through service to your community. 

   Commissioners are expected to diligently attend and participate in all meetings of the commission. All commissioners serve without compensation, on a volunteer basis.
