Oak Ave & Illinois Road Water Main - Summer 2017
The Village of Northbrook proactively reviews the condition of our utility systems, water and sewers, on an annual basis and updates our recommended five-year Capital Improvement Plan. The existing cast iron 6-inch diameter water mains found in this area will be replaced with 8-inch mains to accommodate the increased volume needed by the community, to ensure sufficient water flow if needed by the Fire Department in the case of an emergency, and due to its deteriorated condition.Link to page
Charlemagne Water Main Improvements - 2018
As part of the Village’s review of the Water Fund and the development of water rate study, a water main replacement program was included. The focus of this program is replacement of the 6-inch diameter cast iron main within the water distribution system as the majority of water main breaks occur on this type of main. The mains on Dauphine Avenue, Normandy Lane and Bordeaux Drive have been identified for replacement based on their age and break history.Link to page
Western Avenue Water Main & Reconstruction - 2018
As part of its ongoing water main replacement and street reconstruction programs, the Village will be completely replacing the water mains along Western Avenue from Maple Avenue to Techny Road and, following that, reconstructing the roadway. Learn more about this project on this page.Link to page
