Current Projects

2024 - Huntington Subdivision Water Main and Roadway Improvements

The Village of Northbrook plans for and funds the replacement of water main each year. A particular focus is placed on replacing 6-inch cast iron water mains as this is historically the worst performing main within the water distribution system. This project will focus on the Huntington Subdivision, which includes Russet Lane, Radcliffe Drive, Southwind Drive, Wessling Drive, Charles Drive, Stratford Place, Russet Court, and Eastwind Court.

2025 - Asphalt Street Rehabilitation

This project involves resurfacing Christina Lane, Greenwood Road, Hillcrest Lane, Pamella Lane, and Weller Lane.

2025 - Shermer Corridor Improvements

This corridor is identified in the Village’s 2018 Master Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan (MBPP) as a location where installation of a sidepath is recommended. The MBPP can be found at this link. The MBPP identifies the Shermer Road Corridor Improvements as a high priority project. Walters Road from Sanders to Shermer is also identified as a priority corridor in North West Municipal Conference (NWMC) transportation plan as regional route. The NWMC transportation plan can be found at this link. In 2022, the Village of Northbrook was awarded $2,002,400 in Surface Transportation Program (STP) grant funding for installation of a sidepath and roadway resurfacing of Shermer Road through the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning. The target construction date for this project is 2025. The roadway resurfacing, concrete patching, and sidepath projects are being designed and constructed in Fiscal Year 2025/26 together to minimize impacts to residents and leverage economies of scale.

2027 - Walters Avenue Corridor Improvements

This corridor is identified in the Village’s 2018 Master Bicycle & Pedestrian Plan (MBPP) as a location where separated bike lanes are recommended. The MBPP identifies the Walters Avenue Corridor Improvements as a high priority project. Walters Road from Sanders to Shermer is also identified as a priority corridor in North West Municipal Conference (NWMC) transportation plan as regional route.

2025 Concrete Street Patching Improvements

Construction of approximately 6,400 square yards of Class B concrete street patches on Picardy Lane, Michelline Lane, Bordeaux Drive, Touraine Terrace, Brittany Court, Bordeaux Court, Landwehr Road, Huehl Road, Dundee Road, Lindberg Lane, Arnold Lane, Doolittle Drive, Academy Drive, and Shannon Road in the Village of Northbrook, Illinois.
